The founder of a popular natural food store chain based in Ventura County has died.
Hilmar Lassen grew up in his native Denmark, but brought his family to the United states in the late 1940′s. He founded Lassen’s Natural Foods, and Vitamins, which now has 11 markets. He, and his wife Oda had seven children, and more than two dozen grandchildren. Lassen, who lived in Camarillo, was 98 years old.
