Fire investigators say activity by the homeless was responsible for a small brush fire which caused a big scare in Ventura overnight.
Firefighters were called to the 300 block of Chrisman Avenue just before midnight Sunday, by a blaze burning in brush behind some homes. They were able to knock down the blaze before it could spread to the structures, and put it out in about 90 minutes.
