Delays Hit New Movie, Television Studio Complex Planned For Ventura County

Posted on Thursday, November 8, 2012 8:28pm

Plans for a new television, and movie studio complex in Ventura County are being pushed back, with officials citing unresolved water, and flood control issues related to the project.

The Moorpark City Council agreed to grant a one year extension to the project approval for what’s being called Moorpark West Studios.

Triliad Development is planning to build 12 sound stages, as well as support facilities on Los Angeles Avenue.

Developers say the complex would create more than 100 permanent jobs for the studios, and more than 600 jobs daily for projects on the lot.

The 560.000, $125 million dollar project is being called the largest independent movie studio in the United States. Plans call for construction to start sometime next year.
