Ventura County Firefighters Mopping Up At Scene Of Brush Fire

Posted on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 12:30am

Ventura County firefighters are mopping up this morning at the scene of a 25 acre brushfire burning in the hills southwest of Camarillo.

The fire was discovered at around 12:30 yesterday afternoon near the intersection of Pancho, and Howard Roads. No structures are threatened but because the terrain is so rugged, hand crews, and a helicopter were used to fight the fire.

Firefighters contained the blaze last night evening, but patrolled though the night for hot spots. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. They say because of the rugged terrain, the estimate of the acreage burned could be changed by the time fire is finally declared out.
