He didn’t win the World Series Of Poker, but a second place finish by a former Ventura County college student earned his $5.3 million dollars today.
Greg Merson defeated Jessie Sylvia in a nationally televised session in Las Vegas, after close to 12 hours of play.
Sylvia was a math student at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, who now lives in Las Vegas, and plays poker professionally.
The 26 year old started winning big when he was still a student at CLU between 2004, and 2008.
