They had to travel all the way to the East Coast to settle the competition, but two South Coast high school teams faced off yesterday for the world mock trial championships.
Now, they’re stuck there because of Hurricane Sandy.
Many of the three dozen high school teams from around the globe in New York for the Empire City Mock Trial Invitational Tournament are stranded at the Brooklyn hotel used has home base for the event, including teams from Thousand Oaks, and Goleta.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports they’re safe, but it may be days before they can get a flight home.
