Firefighters remain on alert throughout the South Coast, as Santa Ana winds conditions continue to buffet the region.
There’s a Red Flag warning in effect for high brush fire danger in Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties. In Southern Santa Barbara County, there’s a wind advisory in effect.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department beefed up staffing, and the state has sent additional firefighters to the region. The Los Padres National Forest has also positioned an extra strike team of engines, as well as a hotshot hand crew in the forest. The Forest Service also has two air tankers, and a helicopter on standby at its base in Santa Maria.
The wind is expected to be a concern until midday tomorrow, when approaching low pressure will change the weather pattern.
