The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, in Ventura County is gearing up for some major debates this weekend, but don’t expect President Obama, or Mitt Romney to be on hand.
The Presidential Library in Simi Valley is hosting a series of dates featuring eight high school students from around the country, who are competing for $35,000 in scholarship money. The Ronald Reagan Great Communicator Debate Series started off with 2800 students in 44 state competing, with the finalists being flown to Ventura County.
The topic will be a proposal for a balanced budget amendment. The day long event on Saturday will be capped by a panel led by former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, who is one of the debate judges for the national championships.
