Cable On Ferris Wheel Breaks In Ventura County, Stranding Riders

Some people attending an alumni celebration at a Ventura County university got a more exciting experience on a Ferris wheel than they expected.

A cable on the ride broke down at around 9 p..m. Saturday, leaving some two dozen riders stranded.

The Ventura County Fire Department responded to the campus in Thousand Oaks, and helped ride operators manually turn the wheel, to get people to the ground safely.

No one was hurt.
