A San Diego man was arrested on child annoyance charges, after several people say they saw him trying to lure children into his car in a park in Ventura County.

It happened yesterday afternoon, at Poindexter Park, in Moorpark. Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say Sergio Rivas first tried to lure adult women into his car, by making suggestive comments. Investigators say when that failed, he tried to lure children walking home from school to his vehicle. Some adults who say the saw children running from the car called deputies, who arrested the 49 year year old man.

Deputies say they found a red police type light in the man’s vehicle, as well as some ammunition.
