A just completed investigation by the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office says police were justified in fatally shooting a Lompoc man who wounded two women, and was threatening officers.
Lompoc Police were called to a home on the 200 block of South I Street on June 4th, by a report of shots fired.
They found that Lawrence Kitchen had wounded two women in a dispute over parking. The first two arriving officers say that Kitchen didn’t respond to orders for him to drop his weapon, and that when he pointed a gun at them, they opened fire, fatally wounded him.
