Simi Valley Police are crediting “Facebook” with helping them to catch a bank robber.

Police say a man robbed a Citibank branch on Cochran Street in Simi Valley on July 9th. Then, on September 1st, a man matching the same description robbed the same bank branch a second time.

No one was hurt in either incident.

Detectives posted some of the bank surveillance photos from the second robbery on the Simi Valley Police Department’s Facebook page.

Within hours, a woman called police, saying she recognized the man. The FBI located 65-year-old Nicholas Raymond Gonzales of Simi Valley in Los Angeles, where he was arrested.
