A gun once owned by outlaw Butch Cassidy sold for $175,000 at an auction in Ventura County.
The Colt .45 was owned by a gun collector in Illinois, and was sold to a museum. Part of the reason the gun went for such a high price is that its history was well documented, so there were no questions about its authenticity. It was one of a number of vintage guns sold by California Auctioneers, and Appraisers in Casitas Springs yesterday.
