A water, and sewer district serving parts of eastern Ventura County, and western Los Angeles County is proposing to hike its rates.
The Los Virgenes Municipal Water District says its water supplier, the Metropolitan Water District Of Southern California, is going to be charging the local district more for water starting in 2013.
Under the proposed structure, low water, and sewage users could actually see reduced bills. Moderate customers can expect a sewage rate hike of 56 cents a billing period, and $6.58 a month for water.
The Los Virgenes district includes Westlake Village, and Agoura Hlls.
The district is putting the plan out for public review, with its board of directors expected to hold a hearing on the effort, and make a decision in October.
