Ventura, and Los Angeles County firefighters are battling a brushfire in a rugged remote area of the county, near the Ventura-Los Angeles County line.
The 100 acre blaze was first reported at around 8:30 Sunday morning, off of Highway 126 near the Newhall Ranch area. Firefighters aided by helicopters, and an airplane have been fighting the fire. In addition to Ventura, and Los Angeles County firefighters, state, and City of Santa Paula firefighters are now involved in the efforts to control the blaze.
No structures are reported to be in danger. Firefighters have to contend with the heat, and rugged terrain but say there isn’t much wind, so the blaze has been moving slowly.
There’s no word on what sparked the fire, or when firefighters think they will have it contained.
