Santa Barbara Man Arrested After Three Hour Standoff With Police

Posted on Thursday, August 16, 2012 12:27am

A man who failed to show up in court to face a domestic battery charge was arrested following a three hour standoff with police in Santa Barbara.

It started at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, when an officer noticed Anthony Allen Perrie standing on a corner near Salinas, and Indian Muerto Streets on Santa Barbara’s Eastside.

When the officer tried to arrest the 28 year old man, he fled to his mother’s apartment, on the 200 block of South Salinas Street, and barricaded himself inside.

He refused orders to surrender, and after a three hour standoff, officers entered the apartment using a flash bag device, and a K-9. When he still refused to come out of the barricaded apartment bedroom, they knocked the door down, and used a beanbag gun to stun him, and take him into custody.

Perrie was taken into custody for other charges ranging from robbery, terrorist threats, and resisting a police officer.
