Some Santa Barbara County Residents To Pay More For Library Services

Posted on Thursday, August 9, 2012 2:03pm

Some South Coast residents will soon be paying a bit more to support their library services.

The Goleta City Council approved a 2.7 percent increase in a special annual library parcel tax.

More than 8600 property owners in the city pay the more than two decade old annual tax, which ranges from $10, to $127 dollars, which is administered for the city by Santa Barbara County.

The money isn’t enough to cover all library system costs, but the money raised is combined with general fund revenue, and other sources.
