A new state law means high school athletes who suffer possible concussions will have to undergo examinations by licensed medical personnel before they will be allowed to resume play.
It will mean a big cultural change for many, because of traditional attitudes that you should shake off a blow, and stay in the game.
In Southern Santa Barbara County, a school district and a hospital system are teaming up to establish a clinic specifically to check out potentially injured players. KCLU’s Lance Orozco has the story.
