Plans for a long sought park in a Ventura County neighborhood could get a big boost tonight.
The Ventura City Council is set to look at a proposal to commit money to buy a more than two acre chunk of land at Kellogg Street, and Ventura Avenue.
The property is on the market for $1.1 million dollars, and studies show it’s a reasonable price for property which would work as a park.
The City Council is looking at allocating as much as $600,000 for the park, and would try to get grants, and the support of non-profits to cover the rest of the purchase cost, as well funding as to develop it.
