What started as a check by Ventura Police on a vehicle parked suspiciously led to a vehicle, and foot chase, abd the arrests of two Oxnard men.
An officer noticed a vehicle parked near Fremont Street, and Hill Road just after 5 yesterday morning. Police say as they approached the car, a man identified as Randy Omega of Oxnard arrived with what they believed were stolen items. As he was being questioned, a second man, Juana Magana got into the parked vehicle, and fled.
After a several block chase, the vehicle crashed into a fence, and Magana was arrested after a short foot chase. He was charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, and possession of stolen property. Omega was arrested for giving a false name to a police officer, and for outstanding warrants.
