Authorities are continuing to question a man in custody in Los Angeles over his possible involvement with stabbings of homeless people in the Los Angeles area, and Santa Barbara.

Courtney Anthony Robinson had been sought as what the LAPD called a “person of interest for two attacks in Los Angeles, and one in Santa Monica this month. An LAPD spokesman says the 38 year old man called 911 on Friday night, and turned himself in to officers.

In the Los Angeles area attacks, two homeless men, and a homeless women were attacked in separate incidents. In each case, a typed note claiming to be a “death warrant” was attached to each victim. All three people survived the attacks. Robinson has been charged with suspicion of attempted murder.

Santa Barbara Police say they are looking at whether Robinson was responsible for the stabbings of two homeless men in Santa Barbara, one June 26th and July 1st. In those incidents, no notes were left behind. Both victims survived the attacks.

Neither department is talking about possible motives for the attacks.
