A planned burn in Southern Santa Barbara County could create a cloud of smoke Saturday morning, and early afternoon.
UC Santa Barbara, and the Santa Barbara County Fire department are conducting a prescribed burn on UCSB’s Lagoon. It’s part of a research project, and also allows firefighters to provide training for the county’s arson task force.
The planned burn is expected to take place from around 10:30 a.m., to one p.m. Saturday, so if you see smoke in that area, know that it’s just part of a planned effort.
