It was controversial when it was first built, but a massive piece of public art on the South Coast has become a part of the landscape over the last two decades.
Now, Santa Barbara’s Chromatic Gate, near East Beach, is in trouble.
Rain, sun, and ocean air have combined to damage the series of arches which make up the more than 20 foot tall artwork.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco gives us a look at a campaign to restore the sculpture by an internationally known artist.
