The governor has signed into law legislation from a local state senator intended to help sex crime victims.
Senate Bill 1091 provides trial assistance for victims of child pornography, pimping, pandering, and for sex trafficking. Up until now, the law allowed for limited assistance for victims of just certain types of crimes before, and during trials.
It was authored by Democratic Senator Fran Pavley of Agoura Hills, and passed both houses with unanimous, bi-partisan support.
