A Ventura County woman is dead, and her husband seriously injured following the crash of a small plane is Arizona.
The plane had landed in Winslow, Arizona at around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon. Navajo County Sheriff’s Deputies say the plane had landed for fuel, and the pilot had also had asked about the availability of a mechanic, because the plane’s engine was running rough. There wasn’t a mechanic on hand.
Deputies say the pilot then tried to take off, crashing about 300 yards northwest of the airport.
62 year old Sandee Tischler was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband, 65 year old Joe Tischler, is reported to be in stable condition in a Flagstaff Hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
