Immigration reform is one of the major issues in this year’s presidential election, and it’s become an even bigger topic after President Obama recently moved to ease deportation policies towards some of the nation’s younger undocumented immigrants.
It will be a big subject in the Conejo Valley tonight, at a community forum which includes a documentary film, followed by a panel discussion looking at the social issues involved.
One of those taking part is a Ventura County woman who was brought to the U.S. from Mexico as a child, graduated from high school, and college in the county, but can’t get a job because she’s not here locally.
