A Ventura County company has received a $1.8 million dollar state grant to harness renewable energy resources to power a biodiesel processing facility.
The California Energy Commission awarded the money to Biodiesel Industries of Ventura. Plans call for multiple renewable resources, like solar power, to be integrated into a power source for the facility.
The facility will be located at Naval Base Ventura County’s Port Hueneme installation.
The biodiesel produced at the plant will recycle waste products, and potentially create a low cost renewable energy source
