Ventura County Museum Chief Gets New Job

Posted on Monday, July 2, 2012 5:01am

A man who’s been with Ventura County’s largest museum for nearly two decades, and headed it for a dozen years has taken a new job in Iowa.

Tim Schiffer is leaving his post as Executive Director of the Museum of Ventura County for a similar post at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport, Iowa.

Schiffer joined the Ventura museum on 1993, and became its head in 1999. He’s helped steer it through major expansion in the last few years, with a renovation of its main museum complex in Ventura, and the addition of an agricultural museum in Santa Paula.

The Ventura museum’s Director of Development, Robin Woodworth, will manage the museums on an interim basis while museum directors choose a new executive director.
