You’d think that having a Ventura County judge tell you that you’re not to drive, because your license has been suspended or revoked would sent a clear enough message to some people in trouble for DUI charges, or other serious offenses.
But, Oxnard Police found it wasn’t enough for close to a dozen drivers.
They conducted a sting operation at the Ventura County Superior Courthouse in Ventura, and followed 11 people out of courtrooms who had just been told among other things not to drive, because their licenses were no longer valid. Officers say eight of the 11 immediately left court, went out to vehicles, and tried to drive away. The were all arrested, and their vehicles impounded for 30 days.
