Fire investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire which injured two people in a small Ventura housing complex.
The fire was discovered just after two a.m. Monday, in a four unit building on the 300 block of East Lewis Street in Ventura. Arriving firefighters were worried someone might be trapped in one of the units, which had heavy flames, and smoke pouring from it, but everyone had escaped before they reached the scene. Firefighters were able to contain the fire before it spread to the three neighboring units.
Two residents suffered minor injuries, with one of them taken to a hospital for treatment.
