Authorities are now identifying a 26 year old Santa Barbara woman who was fatally injured in a hit and run accident in the Summerland area, which also left a second woman seriously injured.
The CHP is still trying to figure out what happened, but investigators say the two were apparently trying to cross East Valley Road, at Sheffield Drive when they were struck at around 6 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle which hit them fled the scene.
The injured young women were driven to Cottage Hospital by a good Samaritan, where the most seriously injured of the two died shortly after arriving at the hospital. She’s being identified as Allison Meadows.
The CHP is looking for eyewitnesses, or anyone who might know anything about the accident.
