Two Los Angeles men have been arrested in Ventura County, for what authorities say was a bank fraud scam, involving bad checks.
Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say the two men, working with an unidentified third suspect, would open bank accounts, and write checks against the new accounts, knowing their were no funds to cover the withdrawals.
Working with the Secret Service, detectives say they arrested Jin Tae Kim, and Ho Rim Yoon at a Thousand Oaks bank. Investigators say the two made several fraudulent transactions at three different banks. The detectives say the still unidentified third person supplied the men with information to help the duo complete the transactions.
