Posted on Friday, May 18, 2012 12:55am

Alert hotel staff members at a Camarillo motel discovered what they believed to be evidence of a counterfeiting, and identity theft operation, leading to four arrests.

The evidence was discovered at a motel on the 900 block of West Ventura Boulevard around noon on Wednesday. The motel’s staff notified Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies, leading to the discovery of evidence in two motel rooms, and two vehicles parked at the motel. Three Los Angeles residents, and one Woodland Hills resident were arrested for theft, forgery, identity theft, and drug charges.

Investigators say the four were involved in counterfeiting, and using stolen checks.
