A ceremony will take place in Ventura County later this morning to honor 32 public safety officers from various public agencies in the county who died over the years in the line of duty.
The 10 a.m. event will take place at the Ventura County Peace Officer Memorial, which was erected in 1998 at the County Government Center. The fallen officers come from agencies ranging from the Ventura, Oxnard, Simi Valley, and Santa Paula Police Departments, to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, and the CHP.
The ceremony is being held this week, because it’s National Police Week.
