A community meeting is taking place tonight, so supporters of a plan to hold a series of outdoor summer concerts in Ventura can explain the idea.
Boosters of a proposed Ventura Botanical Gardens are proposing to hold a series of up to a dozen concerts this summer, and fall in a giant tent which would be temporarily located in Ventura City Hall’s upper parking lot. The tent would be able to handle nearly two thousand people.
Promoters would pay all city costs, including things like extra police to help with security, and traffic. The concerts would end by 10, to minimize noise. There’s no word on what kinds of artists might appear in the concert series.
The City has been looking at safety concerns surrounding the site, with one of the biggest ones limited access routes in and out of the location.
The meeting will take place in Ventura City Hall’s Community Meeting Room, at six tonight.
