Oxnard Teacher Fired Over Past Role In Adult Film Planning To Appeal Decision

An attorney for a Ventura county schoolteacher fired because she was in an adult film says she’s going to fight the decision.

The Oxnard School District at first suspended with pay, and then last week fired Stacie Halas after officials say a video of her in an adult film surfaced on the internet.

The Oxnard School Board decided that while the Haydock Intermediate School science teacher hadn’t broken any laws, her presence at the school would be disruptive.

The attorney for the 32 year old woman says she worked in the adult film industry before she was hired by the district, but that she moved on to become an educator.
