It’s a normal school day today for a Simi Valley middle school, but it was anything but a typical day yesterday, after the campus was put on a lockdown for 2 1/2 hours.
It started at around 2:45 yesterday afternoon at Sinaloa Middle School, when staff members called police after receiving word that a student might have hidden a gun on campus.
Students were kept in their classrooms as a precaution while police searched the campus.
It was eventually determined there was no gun, and the students were released in groups, starting just after 5 p.m. Police arrested a 14 year old male student on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace on a school campus.
