Marine biologists think a Great White Shark is responsible for an attack which fatally injured a sea lion off the Santa Barbara coastline.
The injured sea lion was spotted near Stearns Wharf Wednesday morning, and Harbor Patrol officer brought it to shore with a net. It was too badly injured to survive.
Experts say the wounds appear consistent with that of an attack of a juvenile Great White Shark. As a precaution, the Harbor Patrol notified kayak vendors in the waterfront area.
