The Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control Districts have jointly received a $250,000 grant to develop an electric car charging network along the 101 Freeway on the Central and South Coasts.
The U.S. Department of Energy, and the California Energy Commission is funding the effort. The money will be used to plan, and install the network.
Dozens of charging stations have been installed in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties since the first of the year.
