A noted Ventura County artist, and writer has died.
Douglas Spalding was a teacher, and school administrator who became a painter, and sculptor.
The Ventura man also wrote novels, and hosted writers group meetings in his home.
Spalding died at his Ventura home.
He was 82 years old.
A community memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. April 21st, at Ventura City Hall.
