One of the longest serving public officials in Ventura County has announced his retirement.
Simi Valley City Manager Mike Sedell says he will step down this summer, after 17 years on the job.
He’s worked in public service for four decades.
In a letter to the City Council, Sedell said that it has been an honor to serve the city, but wants to spend more time with his family.
The City Council will look at how it wants to proceed with hiring a replacement at its April 23rd meeting.
It’s a time of transition for the city’s management, with the City Council already looking at filling vacant Police Chief, and City Attorney posts.
