The Ventura County Community College District is looking at a number of new cuts, and restructuring moves to try to help close its multi-million dollar budget gap.
Trustees this week are set to look at eliminating or modifying dozens of positions, in an effort to save some $3.5 million dollars in salaries and benefits.
The proposed changes include downsizing campus bookstores, and having them run campus vending machine operations; plus reducing and/or restructuring the management support, business service, and maintenance/operations staffs.
The district, like most around the state is trying to deal with the impacts of major state funding cuts.
