A Kern County based oil, and gas exploration company has withdrawn its approved plans to do seismic testing in a remote area of eastern Santa Barbara County.
E & B Natural Resources Management Company had been planning to bury, and explode dynamite on 23 square miles of agricultural land in the Cuyama Valley, to collect geophysical data to try to find underground oil, and gas reserves.
The plans drew protests from some environmental groups. The Environmental Defense Center had filed an appeal of the county’s approval of the project, on behalf of the Santa Barbara County Action Network, and the Carpinteria Valley Association.
