U-C Santa Barbara, and a coalition of students have launched a campaign to try to get thousands of students to stop using disposable plastic bags.
The UCSB Bookstore, UCSB Housing And Residential Services, and students distributed 3500 reusable bags to the campus community this week.
Carpinteria recently passed an ordinance banning the use of single use plastic bags, while Ojai is close to finalizing one, and the City of Santa Barbara is again looking at the issue.
