Ventura County Girl Launches Drive To Recycle 100,000 Beverage Containers In Region By Earth Dayt

A young Ventura County girl battling a life threatening medical issue hasn’t let it stop her from pursuing an ambitious environmental project.

Avery Sax of Moorpark is trying to get people in the region to recycle 100,000 beverage containers by April 22nd, which is Earth Day.

The 11 year old’s intent was to raise money for her school, but school officials were so touched they decided the effort should go towards her massive medical bills, which are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco caught up with the energetic young girl as she was sorting donations at a Thousand Oaks recycling facility.
