The arrest of three people last week on charges they were dealing heroin in Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties is the latest chapter in one community’s drive to tackle its heroin problem.
In the last year, more than a dozen Simi Valley residents died, or came close to death as the result of heroin overdoses.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports the families of some of those who been affected have joined forces with some community leaders to try to address the issue.
