The City of Carpinteria is one of the leaders on the South Coast in efforts to ban single use plastic bags, but its ordinance is the subject of a lawsuit by a group representing the bag industry. KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports the suit focuses on the inclusion of restaurants in the ordinance, which is set to take effect in phases starting this summer.
