Terrorism Exercise At Naval Base Ventura County Could Disrupt Traffic

An all week long anti-terrorism training exercise at Naval Base Ventura County could impact traffic around the base.

“Exercise Solid Curtain-Citadel Shield 2012” started yesterday, and runs through this coming Saturday.  There are some gate closures at both the Point Mugu, and Port Hueneme locations.

Everyone in every vehicle entering the two base locations will be required to have a photo ID.  Also, all recreation activities on the base like bowling, and golf will be closed for the week.

Base officials say we could see some traffic backups because of the shutdown of some of the gates, as well as because of the increased security checks.
