It’s a tough week for some Ventura County Community College District employees.
About 100 have been notified that they may be laid off, because of the district’s continuing financial problems. Legally, they had to be notified by March 15th that they potentially may not have a job in the next fiscal year.
The notices went out to variety of employees, but none of them were faculty members. Those affected are managers, or classified employees.
Some, or all of the layoffs could be rescinded if the state funding situation improves for the district, but that isn’t considered likely.
The district runs Moorpark, Oxnard, and Ventura Colleges.
