The bodies of three people have been recovered, and the search is continuing this morning for a fourth following a weekend boating accident in the Channel Islands. The boat with four people on board left Channel Islands Harbor Saturday morning, for a day trip to the Channel Islands.
When the boat didn’t return, worried family members called authorities Sunday morning. The overturned vessel, along with three bodies were discovered north of Santa Cruz Island yesterday afternoon. The search for the fourth person onboard was unsuccessful, and is continuing this morning.
Coast Guard officials say they aren’t sure what happened yet. The names of the three male victims whose bodies were recovered haven’t been released.
